Description
Authentic hollow-body wooden duck decoy masterfully carved by renowned New Jersey folk artist Jamie P. "J.P." Hand. Handcrafted from regional Jersey white cedar, this piece perfectly embodies the traditional Barnegat Bay/South Jersey carving school techniques passed down to Hand by legendary carvers Hurley Conklin and Harry Shourds. This exquisite carving depicts a hen in a rare, collectible "sleeper/preener" position, featuring a beautifully contoured tucked neck, sleek bill posture, and beautifully rendered paint detailing with incised feather texturing. The underside bears the signature, authentic "J P HAND" deep-branded maker mark, complete with the original inset lead weighted keel and leather tie-down loop. A spectacular addition to any sporting art, hunting Americana, or high-end decoy collection
