Description
A striking pair of original early 20th-century Art Nouveau / Art Deco framed prints by famed Austrian artist Raphaël Kirchner (1876–1917). Known globally for his sensual "Kirchner Girl" illustrations, these rare pieces showcase his classic theatrical and romantic motifs. Print 1: Features a dark-haired maiden in a sheer gown holding a red apple, paired with a faint Pierrot face in the background. Print 2: Features a beauty in a draping green translucent gown lifting a tiny vial/poison drop to her lips, accompanied by a grieving Pierrot visage. Both prints are signed in plate "© RAPHAËL KIRCHNER" in the lower left section. Housed in period-appropriate narrow wooden frames with original backing wire. Condition: Good antique condition with rich image details and color. Displays expected light age toning and faint foxing/paper discoloration consistent with 100+ year age. Frame backings show tear/wear to vintage paper backing dust covers, but structural wire and framing remain intact. Please see photos for detailed views.
