The strap passes through a slot at the top of the plate and is folded and stitched into a small loop. A square pin buckle with a leather keeper closes the loop. The design comes from the equestrian and leather-goods vocabulary that has shaped Florentine Gucci design for generations: a miniature belt buckle, a clean tag and a warm leather in a honeyed shade. The plate is signed GUCCI below a registered-trademark symbol and marked made in italy, set off by an otherwise unadorned mirrored surface.
