At the top of each, two pale green stones sit one above the other in polished round bezels. Below them, a jump ring and a slender gold bar carry three more bezel-set stones, which shade from golden yellow through orange to a warm red-orange. The round collets frame each faceted stone in an unbroken ring of metal, and their open backs let light pass through. The posts are stamped K18, the 18-karat gold mark used in Japanese jewellery, and the warm yellow tone of the metal suits the autumnal colours of the stones. The earrings move freely when worn.
