Description
A gorgeous antique French Art Nouveau glazed barbotine (majolica) ceramic vase produced by the historic Faïencerie de Fives-Lille under the directorship of Gustave De Bruyn. Dating to the peak of the French Art Nouveau movement (circa 1890–1905), this piece beautifully embodies the organic, fluid botanical aesthetics of the turn of the century. The vase features a dramatic, slender silhouette. The relief decoration showcases embossed pink rosebuds and winding botanical stems against a high-gloss, deep teal and forest-green blended glaze. The interior of the mouth features a complementary soft pink glaze. This is a classic, highly collectible example of European art pottery. • Manufacturer: Faïencerie de Fives-Lille (Gustave De Bruyn) • Origin: Lille, France • Period / Style: Art Nouveau (c. 1900) • Material: Glazed Earthenware / Barbotine / Majolica • Model Number: 8347
